Do Obama’s Gaffes Really Matter?
By Dan | May 27, 2008
Conservatives and McCain supporters alike are celebrating the nomination of Barack Hussein Obama. They cannot believe how lucky they are to run against such a weak candidate. After all, he is a one man gaffe machine.
His supporters want us to give him a break, every time he commits one of these gaffes they come up with an excuse. He was tired in Oregon when he talked about the 57 states. Sunrise, Sunshine; what is the difference? What about seeing dead people?
The question will eventually be asked, do these gaffes matter. The media and Obama supporters (sorry for the redundancy) will emphatically and hypocritically answer NO!.
Unfortunately for them the answer is yes, these gaffes do matter. It would be one thing if he made them rarely, but his constant slip-ups indicate one of two things. Neither of which do we want in a president. Either he lacks intelligence, knowledge and experience (two of those are obvious, you can decide about the third) or he just doesn’t care.
I think it is the latter. Obama just doesn’t care what the average person thinks of him. He has bought into all the hype surrounding him to the point that he believes we are obligated to vote for him. He has gone from the upstart challenger to the inevitable candidate.
Obama’s gaffes reflect one of hisĀ major character flaws; Arrogance. He has shown his elitism and lack of interest in middle America before, his lack of preparation is simply another example.
