Obama Campaign Grasping at Straws
By Dan | September 4, 2008
Last night Sarah Palin stood up and silenced her critics. Keith Olbermann was left speechless, no small feat. The speech was brilliant, it was well written and well delivered.
Today no one thinks that McCain failed to vet her properly. Obama is reeling, he the candidate with no substance is now arguing that Palin has no substance. He cannot win on this issue. He is the greatest speaker who has never said a thing.
Obama’s campaign is now using another tactic right out of the the little red book. Accuse your enemy of what you do. He is now trying to argue that Palin in inexperienced and lacks substance. Two very real concerns about Mr. Obama.
The Obama campaign is also trying to tell everyone that Palin had the help of a speechwriter. This is the man who accused his own campaign of “mis-writing” a speech he delivered about Israel. Yes she had a speechwriter, but she also is capable of speaking off the cuff as we saw in Ohio. Obama on the other hand has problems when there is teleprompter.
All of these attacks by Obama and his surragates, including the media are counter productive. Obama should not be focusing on Palin, he is running against John McCain. He should not bring up experience, he doesn’t have any. He should not talk about speechwriters, he has a lot.
This another example of the Obama campaign being poorly managed and lacking experience. Obama was in trouble before Palin was picked and now he is looking desperate.
*Update* Michelle Malkin has the latest on Obama’s appearance on Fox News Tonight. My take is that the Obama campaign knows that the Republicans are doing serious damage and he has to try to change the narrative.
